SERVING BURLINGTON RESIDENTS

The Job Connect program is a provincial program that provides unemployed youth (ages 16 to 24) and adults access to services they need to find and keep jobs or return to school.
The Career Development & Learning Centre in Burlington is here to give you the support and the skills you need to compete in the Job Market. Even more than that, we are able to open doors for you or help you build your resume with experiences.
We offer an array of services to Youth/Adults and Employers. Please see below:
JOB SEEKER SERVICES
Resource Room
Self-help open access to all job seekers including those who are youth, adult, employed, unemployed, students, etc. Resources include computers with word processing and internet access, fax services, resume copying, print materials, job boards, and free workshops. Also available are referrals to community resources and/or employment planning services for qualified candidates.
Employment Planning Services *
One to one assistance for job seekers that includes the following:
- The development of a personal employment search action plan
- Advice/ guidance on job search methods, resumes, interviews, letters, etc.
- Personalized resume development
- Access to specific career related and computer workshops
- Referrals to Job Development Placement Services for qualified candidates
Job Development Placement Support *
Access to one on one placement services and training subsidies for those job seekers who require assistance; Individualized job placement services based on your goals and objectives.
Summer Jobs Services
Available to returning students; resource room services as above and access to wage subsidy program and job postings for students.

EMPLOYER SERVICES
Resource Room
Free Job Postings Services on our internal job boards; Resume Collection and Sorting based on identified criteria; Planning and conducting job fairs on behalf of employers; Referral to employment wage subsidy and employment training programs and services.
Employment Planning Services
Job Posting Services as above as well as the referral and screening of qualified and appropriate job seekers. We will contact interested job seekers to advise of openings. Job Connect is also able to provide advice/guidance on human resource planning.
Job Development Placement Support
Training plan development and access to training subsidies based on your business needs and training requirements. Employers are provided with the appropriate candidates with the skills to do the job they need done, with quality measures in place for monitoring and follow up on all placements. Employers must be a registered business operating in Ontario, have third party liability insurance, not in a position to lay-off workers, and have WSIB or equivalent workplace insurance to be eligible for training subsidy.
Summer Jobs Services
$2.00 per hour wage subsidy for employers who hire eligible students, and/or job posting services as above as well as referral of appropriate students.
